About Us
OUR STORY
NIGHT OF FORTRESSES,
the cultural-tourist event that takes place at established monuments of cultural heritage (forts, forts, castles…) was held for the first time in 2022 in the territory of Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a result of the joint European project FORTITUDE.
In the past two years, the event has connected and promoted the program at more than 45 fortification sites in 6 countries: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Romania and Serbia.

Night of Fortresses,

Goals
The aim of the event is to improve the cultural and tourist offer in cities with established heritage in Europe and to raise awareness of the potential and importance of the valorization of cultural heritage as a generator of the development of cultural tourism.
Join in
All established locations in Europe and other heritage institutions can join the commemoration of the FORTRESS NIGHT and organize contents and programs for visitors; whether it is about: exhibitions, lectures, workshops, concerts, films, dance performances, expert guidance, open days…
European Fortress Summer
The Night of Fortresses is part of the European Fortress Summer event, which since 2018 has been connecting and promoting events at fortified fortification monuments throughout Europe. The international associations EFFORTS i FORTE CULTURA are involved in the organization of the event.
The Night of the Fortress event
The Night of the Fortress event came out of the European FORTITUDE project, and today it is jointly held by: Fortress of Culture Šibenik, the City of Karlovac, the Municipality of Bar, City of Banja Luka, City of Trebinje and the Municipality of Ulcinj.
