Starting at 6 pm, visitors to the event could walk through the space, take photos with 8 knights and 20 costumed medieval residents of the Old Town of Dubovac. There will also be a photo point with visuals of the Fortitude project and 2 screens where visitors can view the project’s promotional materials in digital form.

Due to the need for darkness, the first 30-minute Fortitude Light will begin at 9 p.m. The play accompanied by occasional music will be repeated three times until 22:30 when the end of working hours is planned for the first day of the event.

 Description of Workshops

 

1.      Knjiguljica

A creative quest game with many puzzles hidden in the Old Town of Dubovac. The correct solution of the puzzle leads to the second, third and so on all the way to the goal. Each participant who discovers all the correct answers receives a small sweet gift.

The search will be followed by a creative workshop “Light Catcher” which we will create with help

paint, paper and light. Children take their light catchers home.

 

2.      Eko Pan

The theme of the workshop is light, and the concept is learning about cultural and historical heritage through the application of recycling techniques and reuse of different materials. During the workshop, children will learn about the harmful effects of light pollution on the environment and our atmosphere, and through practical work they will learn how to help our atmosphere.

 

3.      Zajednica tehničke kulture

Educational workshops for primary school children. Through workshops, children will learn how electricity can be generated from natural things from the environment and have the opportunity to play various games with light themes such as: “Connect shadows” – drawing pictures based on shadows, “Light up” – visitors combine two general concepts (such as memory games) and when the correct / wrong answer is lit or not lit, “Fireflies” – visitors make fireflies that light up.

 

4.      Samonikla

Educational – creative workshops aimed at showing visitors the secret light of plants. Workshop participants will experiment with various plant colors that are invisible and shine in full splendor only under UV light. This interdisciplinary workshop is a blend of design, botany and chemistry, with experiments that reveal art to us in nature. The workshop will master the basics of color and botany, with a little handy chemistry, through practical and visually attractive experiments. During the workshop, the ambience turns into a small laboratory where we discover the full range of invisible colors and tones hidden by everyday flora.

 

5.      Magmatikka

Gabrijela Brletić has been performing workshops and performances with fire for many years. Fire is the first known source of light known to mankind and will be shown to visitors through this workshop. Visitors will have the opportunity to see first-hand and learn a whole new approach to fire in an attractive and interesting way. During her performances, Gabriela will show visitors various props such as fire POIs (props used to play dexterity or manipulate an object), a fan, a contact stick and fire swords. All props will be included through the workshop divided into three points, or three daily performances.

 

6.      Likovna radionica

The theme of the art workshop will be light. Visitors will play a game of light by making candle shades and decorating them. The blinds will be made in the kirigami technique – a variation of origami, the Japanese art of folding paper. In kirigami, the paper is cut and folded, resulting in a three-dimensional design that stands away from the page. The eyeshadows made in this way would be placed in glasses with a light bulb, thus creating a play of light and shadow of the shapes made.

 

Sokolarstvo

The aim of the workshop is to present falconry as an intangible cultural heritage on the UNESCO list of protected heritage. The workshop leader, the Falconry Center Association, will present the art of falconry, offer visitors educational content about birds and their taxonomy, and their role in the food chain. Part of the workshop will be a presentation of falconry equipment and demonstration flights with birds, and the youngest will have the opportunity to take photos with birds.

 

Turistička ruta „Fortitude“

Visitors who decide on the guided tourist route “Fortitude” can expect a pleasant walk along the Karlovac theme trail based on the fortification heritage of the city. The estimated duration of the route is about an hour, and the guides will be members of the Karlovac Association of Tourist Guides Bastion. During April 30, a guided tour will be organized three times at different times of the day.

Throughout the day, from 10 am to 6 pm, visitors will be able to enjoy the company of 8 costumed knights and 20 costumed residents of the medieval Old Town of Dubovac. There will also be 2 screens in the space where visitors will have access to promotional materials of the project in digital form. Also, visitors can be photographed at the photo point.

In case of rain and bad weather, the workshops will be moved to the 2nd floor of the Old Town, and will be adapted to indoor performance.
