Fortress of St. Mihovil is one of the most important cultural and tourist sights of the Zadar islands, an immovable cultural monument and a protected cultural asset of the Republic of Croatia. It is located on the hill of the same name (265 m) above the towns of Preka and Poljana. It was built by the Venetians in the 13th century to control Zadar, prevent its reconstruction and protect their ships and merchants, and today it is a favorite picnic spot for visitors and tourists to the island of Ugljan.
