„Projection over the Lake” is a collaboration between DRTK Shkodër, COD, Shkodër Municipality, the city’s high schools and the “Luigj Gurakuqi” University.
Based on three main components:
🔹 Environmental protection
🔹 Artistic creativity, through the creation of a symbolic figuration/installation by groups of pupils and students, representing the cultural heritage, flora and fauna of Lake Shkodër.
🔹 Involvement of young people in the creation of an artistic mosaic composed of painted plastic bottles, collected during the lake shore cleaning campaign.
This project aims to combine environmental protection with historical heritage and art by placing Lake Shkodër at the center, an extraordinary natural and cultural asset, which is expected to soon be included under UNESCO protection as a Transboundary Biosphere Reserve and the Shkodër Castle, as one of the most visited and well-known sites in the country
The activity will take place at the Shkodra Castle, which lies on the banks of the Buna River, a river that originates from Lake Shkodra.
This symbolic connection between the castle and the lake unites cultural heritage with environmental responsibility, using this initiative as a platform to raise awareness of green and sustainable development.
The goal is to educate visitors on sustainable tourism and practices that contribute to environmental conservation and the protection of cultural heritage, encouraging active participation in the protection of nature and our assets.
Through the “Night of Castles, Go Green”, not only is our rich cultural heritage celebrated, but a concrete contribution is also made to protecting the planet step by step, event by event.
