Peto izdanje međunarodne kulturne manifestacije Night of Fortresses Goes Green održat će se u petkak i subotu, 8. i 9. svibnja 2026. godine, na prostoru Starog grada Slunja, jednog od najvrjednijih kulturno-povijesnih lokaliteta ovoga kraja.
I ove godine manifestacija okuplja baštinske lokalitete diljem Europe oko zajedničke ideje održivosti, društvene odgovornosti i očuvanja kulturne baštine, potvrđujući koliko je važno povezivati povijest, edukaciju, zaštitu okoliša i aktivno uključivanje lokalne zajednice kroz sadržaje namijenjene svim generacijama.
Grad Slunj s velikim zadovoljstvom priprema bogat i raznolik program za djecu, mlade i odrasle, s ciljem podizanja svijesti o važnosti očuvanja kulturne i prirodne baštine te stvaranja kvalitetnog sadržaja koji spaja edukaciju, zabavu i zajedništvo.
Petak, 8. svibnja – program za najmlađe
Prvi dan manifestacije posvećen je najmlađim sudionicima kroz edukativno-likovnu radionicu u prirodi, koja će se održati uz rijeku Slunjčicu, s pogledom na veličanstveni Stari grad Slunj.
Djeca će kroz kreativnu radionicu crtati tvrđavu promatrajući je iz neposredne blizine, čime će na poseban način razvijati osjećaj povezanosti s lokalnom baštinom i prostorom u kojem odrastaju. Nakon likovnog dijela programa slijedi čitanje slikovnice u prirodi, u opuštenom ambijentu uz rijeku, gdje će se kroz priču dodatno približiti povijest i značaj Starog grada.
Program će završiti zajedničkom šetnjom prema tvrđavi, uz pratnju kostimiranog vodiča, koji će djeci na zanimljiv i interaktivan način ispričati legende, anegdote i povijesne priče vezane uz Stari grad Slunj, pretvarajući obilazak u pravo malo putovanje kroz vrijeme.
Subota, 9. svibnja – fotografija, baština i večernja čarolija tvrđave
Drugog dana manifestacije Slunj postaje mjesto susreta ljubitelja fotografije, prirode i kulturne baštine kroz događanje Fotokapljica, koje svake godine okuplja velik broj fotografa i zaljubljenika u umjetnost fotografije.
Ovogodišnja tema uključuje i manifestaciju Noć tvrđava, pa će sudionici imati priliku obići Stari grad Slunj, istražiti njegove vizure te kroz objektiv zabilježiti posebnu atmosferu tvrđave u večernjim satima. Poseban naglasak bit će na fotografiranju sumraka, igre svjetla i kamene arhitekture koja u zalasku sunca dobiva potpuno novu dimenziju.
Uz obilazak tvrđave, druženje, razmjenu iskustava i stvaranje nezaboravnih fotografskih uspomena, posjetitelje očekuje ugodna atmosfera, dobra zabava i još jedna prilika da se kulturna baština doživi na drugačiji, moderan i inspirativan način.
Manifestacija je otvorena za sve posjetitelje, a cilj je još jednom pokazati kako kulturna baština može biti mjesto susreta, edukacije, kreativnosti i održivog razvoja zajednice.

The fifth edition of the international cultural event Night of Fortresses Goes Green will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9, 2026, at the Old Town of Slunj, one of the most valuable cultural and historical landmarks of this region.
This year once again, the event brings together heritage sites across Europe around the shared idea of sustainability, social responsibility, and the preservation of cultural heritage, confirming the importance of connecting history, education, environmental protection, and the active involvement of the local community through programs designed for all generations.
The City of Slunj is preparing a rich and diverse program for children, young people, and adults, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of preserving both cultural and natural heritage while creating meaningful content that combines education, entertainment, and community spirit.
Friday, May 8 – Program for the Youngest Visitors
The first day of the event is dedicated to the youngest participants through an educational and creative outdoor workshop, which will take place by the Slunjčica River, overlooking the magnificent Old Town of Slunj.
Through a creative art workshop, children will draw the fortress while observing it from close proximity, helping them develop a special connection with local heritage and the environment in which they grow up. After the artistic part of the program, there will be a storytelling session in nature, where children will listen to a picture book reading in a relaxing riverside setting, learning more about the history and significance of the Old Town.
The program will conclude with a guided walk to the fortress, accompanied by a costumed guide, who will share legends, anecdotes, and historical stories about the Old Town of Slunj in an engaging and interactive way, turning the visit into a true little journey through time.
Saturday, May 9 – Photography, Heritage, and the Evening Magic of the Fortress
On the second day of the event, Slunj becomes a meeting point for photography enthusiasts, nature lovers, and admirers of cultural heritage through the event Fotokapljica, which gathers a large number of photographers and photography lovers every year.
This year’s theme also includes the Night of Fortresses event, giving participants the opportunity to explore the Old Town of Slunj, discover its unique views, and capture the special atmosphere of the fortress during the evening hours through their camera lenses. Special emphasis will be placed on photographing the sunset, the play of light, and the stone architecture that takes on a completely new dimension at dusk.
Along with the fortress tour, socializing, exchanging experiences, and creating unforgettable photographic memories, visitors can expect a pleasant atmosphere, great entertainment, and another opportunity to experience cultural heritage in a modern, inspiring, and unique way.
The event is open to all visitors, with the goal of once again showing how cultural heritage can become a place of connection, education, creativity, and sustainable community development.
